Introduction. The pandemic and the war in our country made important adjustments to the training of a specialist doctor and forced him to be more motivated. The quality of medical care for the population depends on the level of training of a specialist in any specialty. The quality of a doctor's education depends on a number of factors, including today's challenges. The implementation of European standards of recent years in the educational process in the specialty "Internal Diseases" continues to contribute to the improvement of the quality of postgraduate education.

Main part. The European Standards (2020) for Postgraduate Training of Medical Specialists, presented by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) together with national medical specialist associations, are helping to expand the impact on specialist training. UEMS' areas of influence include continuing medical education, postgraduate training and quality assurance.

The basic requirements for training a doctor in the specialty "Internal Diseases" are regularly updated by both scientific and medical organizations. 

An intern in the specialty "Internal Diseases" is a person who has a master's degree (educational and qualification level of a specialist) in the medical field and is studying to become a doctor. Teaching methods and training technology in an internship differ from methods in a staff college. Postgraduate education in the International European world directs a specialist to independent study. Self-study does not necessarily mean solitude, as there are many opportunities for group study. The lecturers and employees of the university's departments at the scheduled time justify the diagnosis, algorithms of differential diagnosis and treatment of patients together with the intern doctor.

Today, the activity of the teacher as a key figure in the field of postgraduate education, his personal priorities, professional positions, competencies are changing. It is for postgraduate education that the guideline of its activities should be a variable educational model of support, intended for a different contingent of doctors with different basic levels of knowledge and skills. Partnership in the joint work of an intern with a teacher contributes to the creation and consolidation of knowledge. In our opinion, the key mission at the post-graduate stage of education is the joint acquisition of knowledge, which increases the activity of the intern doctor.  

In view of the above, it should be noted that the escort and the escort carry out cohabitation of events on the basis of joint activities. This approach increases the intern's confidence in making decisions about the patient's problems.

It should be noted that in the conditions of war, interns study at the departments and at the same time help the basic medical institution to provide medical care to patients outside classroom time, take part in the triage of seriously ill patients, conduct curation of patients in hospital departments, and their motivation to study and acquire new knowledge and skills only grows.

IT technologies attract the attention of medical interns at the stage of postgraduate education. Thanks to the latter, the content of education, methods and didactic approaches are also changing.

In recent years, media information technologies have gained wide popularity, in particular in Ukraine. This is primarily due to the globalization of education. The formation of skills in the development and use of electronic resources in the educational activity management system, their publication on the web portal of the educational institution becomes an integral part of the educational process. Informatization of education in medicine requires the introduction of innovative methods, means and forms of professional training of future doctors of the new formation into postgraduate education, the creation of a powerful information infrastructure with a developed information and computer learning environment, the introduction of Internet technologies, electronic learning, communication networks (global, national, local).

Conclusion. Considering today's challenges, the ability to ensure the professional development of the personal qualities of specialists and motivate the future generation of intern doctors to study and acquire new knowledge and skills remains an urgent issue. The search for new models of interaction between a teacher and an educator, the use of the entire arsenal of modern technologies in learning and work, improving the quality of success and evaluation in order to ensure the most favorable conditions and environment for training interns and treating patients plays a not least role.
