Artificial intelligence is the most popular development of the 21st century, without which it is now impossible to imagine our existence. Artificial intelligence greatly facilitates everyday life, the process of learning and work. Today, you no longer need to memorize and analyze much, because you can always ask anything in the GPT chat, which will provide a short and clear answer. AI is always ready to remind you of your daily tasks, create a list of what you need to buy, develop an individual nutrition and training plan. AI can also convert a voice message into text, create an image according to your requirements, find the necessary literature sources, write any text for you, and generally find and do almost anything a person wishes.

But along with its advantages, AI carries a real danger to humans. Thanks to AI, children no longer need to memorize, search for and analyze information, so literacy is decreasing; people stop relying on themselves and their memory, they do many things unconsciously. Therefore, while humans are gradually degrading, AI is developing more and more and is beginning to acquire human qualities. Although AI does not yet have creative thinking it cannot solve legal problems and many others, it has already acquired such qualities as cunning and falsification.

AI AND ITS THREAT TO HUMANITY

1. Job losses. Due to the fact that AI is developing very quickly, its ability to work continuously and in extreme conditions, many professions will no longer be needed in the near future.

In one of the interviews, Bill Gates said: “I think that by the “west” of the 2000s generation, there will be only 3 professions left, everything else will be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.”

2. Privacy Invasion. AI is capable of analyzing a very large amount of personal information. This happens through video surveillance cameras, smartphones and social networks. The main problem is what exactly AI does and will do with this information.

3. Manipulation and falsification. AI is capable of creating fake videos, voice messages and can be used for disinformation, political manipulation and fraud.

4. Financial fraud and scams. AI analyzes the behavior of victims on social networks, creating personalized messages for data theft. For example, in 2023, neural networks massively generated fake letters from a bank imitating the style of the client.

Deepfake demand: Criminals use fake videos and audio for blackmailing. There is a known case where the AI voice of the company's CEO requested a transfer of 243 thousand dollars successfully deceiving employees.

5. Organized accessibility. AI optimizes drug and weapons delivery routes by analyzing patrol and camera data. In Mexico law enforcement agencies are using AI-powered drones for border surveillance.

6. Entrenching inequality. Access to advanced AI technologies is limited to large corporations and developed countries which may exacerbate global economic and technological inequality.

7. Ethnic and legal issues. Certain algorithms trained on biased data, exacerbate social inequality. According to statistics, facial recognition systems are more likely to be mistaken for people of non-European race. In addition, in the event of any conflict, AI is unable to understand who is to blame, that is, it cannot pass a sentence of justice.

8. Military use. Drones with facial recognition systems capable of targeting specific individuals; AI-controlled mass destruction systems are already considered a real threat. 

AI automates system hacking, creates adaptive viruses and fitting attacks, which increases the level and speed of cybercrime.

9. The problem of control. Scientists such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk have warned that if AI reaches a level of superintelligence, it will be very difficult to predict its plans and actions.

10. Existential risks. In a report to the US government for 2024, AI was highlighted as a threat to the level of extinction of humanity. It was about the development of biological weapons using data analysis; the management of military systems without human control to provoke conflicts. The complete replacement of humans in decision-making, which calls into question the survival of civilization.

AI IN ROBOTICS

AI in Robotics is one of the areas where AI has the greatest potential. Due to the fact that AI is the "brain" of a robot - robots with AI can "see", "hear", "feel" and make decisions based on the data received. They are also able to learn from experience and adapt to a changing environment. 

Droids are robots of humanoid form, with a high level of autonomy. They can imitate human behavior, recognize language, emotions and perform complex actions. They are used in security, rescue operations, surveillance of people, regulation of autonomous weapons.

The main problems of this droid are the easy replacement of a person with a droid, even with mandatory contact with people, it is very difficult to distinguish a droid from a person - this is the reason for trust and in case the droid gets out of control it will be very difficult to stop it.

In the end, despite all the positive qualities of Artificial Intelligence, it poses a real danger to humans. And in my opinion, the biggest threat is the possibility of achieving AI super intelligence and in this case AI can use the scenarios of the movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron", where AI realized that it no longer needs human and came to the conclusion that human is the worst creature and must be destroyed. Therefore, AI is good and it should be used but only wisely and only where necessary not forgetting about our own education and self-improvement in order to prevent AI from getting out of human control and not increasing the risk of destroying civilization.
