TOURISM DURING THE WAR

The war in Ukraine has greatly changed people's lives, in addition, it has worsened the state of the economy and put upward pressure on prices. Businessmen suffer losses, it is difficult for them. Nevertheless, they try to adapt to new realities. One of the areas of business that is suffered the most is tourism. Due to the invasion of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, most of the tourist companies closed, while others reoriented themselves to volunteering and used their buses to rescue people from hot spots, organizing the purchase of humanitarian aid from abroad through their connections. This was the case at the beginning of the war.

With the onset of heat, everyone wanted to change the situation around them. People understood that the war would last for some time and began to get used to new realities, so the demand for tourist services began to recover gradually. Currently, women and children travel abroad, because men do not have this opportunity. Most tours are bus tours to neighboring countries, such as Bulgaria, Montenegro, Turkey, and Greece, because the air in Ukraine is closed for airplanes. It will be difficult for families with small children to endure a day-long move, so most choose to rest in their native country. Of course, it is possible to get to Poland by bus and then use the plane, but the cost will be more expensive [1].

Domestic tourism began to prevail, Ukrainians choose the western part of our country for this, because it is considered to be the safest, but not all its territories. Strategic objects, border areas, some mountains and forests are generally off-limits. However, this does not interfere with our people. A large number of Ukrainians visit museums, ride bicycles, and ATVs, buy mountain routes, go hiking and just relax by the pool. With the onset of cold weather, and especially when it snows, the already famous resort "Bukovel" and other ski resorts in western Ukraine gain popularity [2].

Due to the war, tourism declined. Many resorts and hotels closed indefinitely because they cared about their safety and the safety of vacationers. However, some did not close for a day, for instance, BANKHOTEL in Lviv (photo 2) and Yaremche Club Hotel (photo 1) in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Because Ukrainians felt safer in the western part of our country. And from the first days of the war they filled possible accommodation facilities.

Yaremche Club Hotel was one of those at 100% occupancy, with occupancy dropping to 50% by June. This is less than it could be without the situation in the country. The hotel worked to help those in need – refugees, the military, the economy and guests. It was difficult because most of the staff went abroad for their safety and the safety of their relatives, some joined the army, so even helping refugees and volunteering was not easy, because the demand was only growing. Another problem was the curfew, which made it difficult for guests to check in and check out, so it was necessary to adapt. The employees even had to live on the territory of the hotel [3].

Starting from May, the load began to decrease, BANKHOTEL was already 80% full, in June – 40%. This hotel also had a hard time. In addition to the problems that Yaremche Club Hotel had, it had supply chain disruptions due to the lack of fuel and other causes that disrupted logistics processes. Accordingly, it affected the provision of accommodation facilities with products [3].

The unity, team and fighting spirit of our country leads us to victory. Despite all the problems, tourists continue to travel both within the country and abroad. At the same time, travel agencies adapt to the wishes and requirements of tourists. Accommodation establishments continue to meet all the needs of guests, try to make efforts to improve the state of our economy and help those in need.
